Synopsis

Daniela is twenty years old when she discovers that during the African War—the same one her father Vittorio fought in as an air force engineer—Italy used chemical bombs against its adversaries. This information alone is enough to shatter the illusions of a childhood filled with stories of her father as a hero. And when Vittorio meets his daughter's questions with stubborn silence, Daniela, hurt by what she considers a true betrayal, leaves home. But while at twenty, certain misunderstandings seem absolute, over the course of a lifetime, Daniela understands that it is possible to accept her father's choices and the differences that separate him from her. Thus, listening to Vittorio's story through his own words, she embraces the true face of our recent history.
