Synopsis

For Anita, "America" ​​is a dream, a hope, and a pain. Pain because her sister emigrated there, never to return; hope because she wants to join her and start a better life, far from the harshness of the countryside and the terrible years between the First and Second World Wars; a dream because every passing year seems to push America further and further away... Yet Anita doesn't give up and lives her life, full of toil and hard work, but also of small, great joys, waiting for the moment when she will finally reach the port of Genoa and board the great ship to sail the liquid, boundless plain of the ocean.
