Synopsis
Agostino Sella, a shy and gentle man, is brutally and senselessly attacked in the parking lot in front of his home. Among the consequences of the violent beating, he suffers a complete loss of memory. After a long convalescence, he decides to retire to live in an abandoned warehouse behind the Pregiata Tipografia Sella, which once belonged to his family. And the space under the stairs, filled with objects and mementos from the past, "a museum of junk," becomes the place where neighbors and acquaintances come to tell him about life's defeats and small victories, stories of loneliness, anxiety, and unhappiness. A melancholic and amusing collection of losers to whom Agostino becomes an involuntary confessor. To help him reconstruct his past, his grandmother and grandfather Luigi—who tried to instill in him his passion for boxing without much success—fragment it into numerous memories, words written on slips of paper placed in a glass bowl. Each ticket drawn will help Agostino reconstruct the entire mosaic of his life: his great love for Angela, his best friend Darbe, whom he met at a gym in Piazzale Insubria, his dog, and those he loved most: his mother and father.
