The summer that remains
Giulia Baldelli
L’estate che resta
Guanda
Synopsis
Giulia and Cristi met as children in the 1990s, during summers spent in a small town in the Marche region. Giulia, determined and rational, is charmed by Cristi, so fragile and so wild, and soon realizes she feels for her something more than friendship. Cristi is also attracted to Giulia, but her eyes continually seek Mattia, a boy who seems to understand her wild nature more deeply than Giulia. After a series of summers punctuated by games by the river and tormented jealousies, the three, on the threshold of adolescence, separate. Ten years later, Giulia and Cristi meet again in Bologna and their never-forgotten love blossoms. But once again, Mattia reappears to upset the balance. From that moment on, their passionate lives become forever intertwined.
