Synopsis

Foreigner. Different. Unfamiliar. Such is the Architect, a young man who moved from Iraq to Italy for university and stayed to work without encountering too many difficulties. And such is Amina, a Moroccan woman he meets by chance and to whom he feels irresistibly drawn, against his own will. Because Amina lives a life on the margins, very different from the Architect's, the life of someone who has never integrated, and to resist, she is forced to sell her body. Against the backdrop of a multiethnic and restless Turin, told through the eyes of two souls in transit from another culture, a story of impossible love, both touching and bitter, which marked the debut of a powerful new literary voice. A voice capable of infusing a highly contemporary novel with all the charm of classical Islamic literature, creating a new, different, foreign style.
