Synopsis

Suddenly, Grazia stops speaking and retreats into silence: she is thirteen years old and has survived an abortion forced upon her by her parents. It is from this painful experience that the plot of La Muta unfolds, a work in which the feminine universe, warm and poignant, is a world where others always make decisions, sometimes with violence, sometimes with feigned benevolence. Maria Pia Alignani leads us into the real world of women and paints a picture of a female situation with which we can identify. She never falls into self-pity, but instead suggests concrete solutions for emerging from it, courageously, constructively, and positively.
