Synopsis

The Casadio family has always lived in the village of Stellata, at the crossroads of Lombardy, Emilia, and Veneto. They are simple, honest, hardworking people. Then, in the early 19th century, something changes: Giacomo Casadio falls in love with Viollca Toska, a gypsy, and marries her. From that moment, the family's descendants divide into two lineages: the blue-eyed, blond-haired dreamers who inherit Giacomo's legacy, and the psychics, who have the black eyes and hair of Viollca, the fortune teller. From Achille, determined to discover the weight of a breath, to Edvige, who plays briscola with her uncle who died two centuries earlier; from Adele, who ventures as far as Brazil, to Neve, who emanates a sweet scent when she's happy, the Casadios live suspended between the irrepressible desire to defy fate and the dangerous habit of chasing their dreams. And they follow through on every choice, whether dictated by love or rebellion, by a thirst for justice or the desire to change the world. But above all, despite the terrible prophecy Viollca read in the tarot cards one stormy night... The saga of a family unfolds across two centuries of history, tracing the events that have shaped Italy: from the revolutionary uprisings that led to unification to the Years of Lead.
