Synopsis

Greta is in her early twenties and has a black hole in her past. As a child, she appeared out of nowhere on the beach of a town on the La Spezia Riviera, and no one ever quite knew whose daughter she was. They found her soaked and angry, screaming at the sea, but then nothing happened, no one claimed her. After a few missteps, she was adopted and raised far away in the Milanese hinterland by a family with two parents who seem almost like siblings. She studied, dropped out, found a job, and then settled into the usual jobs of those who haven't found a real path. But she has a rare syndrome, something that doesn't kill, but which reminds her every day that there's a flaw in her DNA. A manufacturing defect, if only she knew who made it. One autumn, when things seem to have reached a stalemate, she returns to that beach and searches for the "hole" from which she emerged years before. She climbs a hill and discovers a house in the woods, but beyond the marzipan walls, the ogre may be hiding behind the witch. This time, however, accompanied on her adventure by an Italian-German man from an equally uncertain family, she won't have to flee alone a second time, but will have to take her two reunited siblings, Hansel and Sissi, with her on her escape.
