Synopsis
At the end of the First World War, a pilot, ace in Baracca's squadron, is forced to crash-land in enemy territory. Amid the world's collapse, as he flees pursued, he revisits his life. Despite belonging to the highest aristocracy, he has always preferred adventure to privilege, challenge to the security of a preordained existence. He seeks risk to test himself, and does not hesitate to choose to fight in the sky in untested aircraft to test his courage and all his capabilities. The unexpected prolongation of the war, its atrocities, the deaths of his comrades, and the suffering of the masses change his perception of reality. He realizes that he has moved from the heroism he sought in an individualistic way to compassion for all humanity, of which he feels a part for the first time, without denying his origins.
