Synopsis

This is the story of five women as tenacious as nettles. A story that begins in 1925 in the heart of Coppedè, Rome's most eccentric neighborhood. Here, amid the fantastical architecture of the Villino delle Fate, Marianna Mori grows up with five bizarre brothers, conversing with the mosaics at the entrance, concocting magical concoctions, and, when love doesn't get in the way, perfectly reading the hearts of those around her. That love for her will take the name of Carlo Ricci, a painter whose intelligent features and dark gaze take her breath away before disappearing. Her niece, Ginevra, grows up amid the luxury and glamour of the 1960s, and from her aunt, she has acquired a taste for the wrong men: having moved to Turin, she tries to forget an old obsession in the arms of a young man with an ever-ready smile.
