Synopsis

Young Marta's life is an impatient journey through the avenues of Paris, the piazzas of Siena, and the woods of the Marche. It's a journey woven together by absolute and utterly wrong loves, peppered with drugs and rituals to keep anxiety at bay, in the stubborn wait for happiness. Marta knows she's drawn a good card on the wheel of destiny; everything has been arranged to make things go right for her, but feeling good is the smooth, illusory surface of a frozen lake. Marta moves toward the center, where the crust is thinnest, danger is invisible, and sometimes sinking is inevitable. But she doesn't give up; she stubbornly climbs the waves of dreams and substance, of family history, and of a fatal passion for a man much older than her. "Grande era onirica" ​​is a novel with little manners, a courageously sincere and moving coming-of-age story, sustained by virtuoso writing, lucid and dreamy.
