Synopsis

Fleeing the threat of war, a small herd of elephants lands on an island inhabited only by bears and bees, who coexist after having strictly demarcated their respective territories. But they are not alone: evanescent beings roam the forest, burdened with immense pain. Something terrible must have happened there, something that wiped out every other animal, yet which almost no one talks about and surfaces only intermittently in the speeches of a few dissidents. Perhaps only the new arrivals, females in command of a species that is the very symbol of memory, will be able to ease the anguish of those souls, preserving their memory and, with it, the possibility of authentic peace. A story where the explicit narrative is not the true one, and the true narrative is not the explicit one; which can be a fairy tale for a child and a warning for an adult; which exemplifies the sense of unease and torment characteristic of so many contemporary aftermaths of massacres. If dystopias are the mirror image of utopias, what we present here is certainly a non-fable: a disfable.
