Synopsis

Recently graduated from law school, twenty-five-year-old Giulio Cernini confidently faces the first few days of his legal practice at the office of Attorney P. It's immediately clear to Giulio and his trusted companion, Doctor C., that the good times at university are over: months of grueling battles for survival in court await them, along with daily harassment from a boss who seems like the personification of evil, sleepless nights, and existential crises. Against the backdrop of their ordinary heroic exploits is a noisy Rome, filled with indie rock, hipster parties, and romantic adventures. "Charlie Doesn't Surf" depicts, with lucid and irresistible irony, the universe of the 2000s generation, who struggle, cry, and despair, but also push and struggle against the difficulties of unemployment, guilt, and premature nostalgia.
