Lara's Autobiography
Andrea Rossetti
Autobiografia di Lara
Frassinelli
Synopsis
A writer of short stories for women only, a refined chef of inimitable recipes, the only extra always dressed in red-light films or simply employed as a data entry, Lara has only one thought, easily summarized: HIM, HIM, and HIM again. When necessary, she enlists the help of hairdressers, fortune tellers, and witches to whom she confides romantic encounters (never consummated), love affairs (never begun), trips to exotic and romantic places (never taken). This is how Lara's life unfolds, between something that never happened and something else that never will. All told by a meticulous biographer who records every move, sway, and pirouette of his pachydermic heroine. Autobiografia di Lara is a grand tour of the clichés of the '90s, from low-grade esotericism to soap opera sentimentality and supermarket beauty farms.
