Synopsis

The disappearance of Eloisa Garavaglia, wife of the powerful Colonel Lanza, is kept under wraps but sparks a highly confidential investigation. Few traces remain, and no shadows remain in her life, and even if her husband has some suspicions, they are not thoughts a man like him would share. Least of all with the young officer Norma Gigli, who patrols Milan in a man's world on patrol. In a scorching June, many stories unfold through the city streets, from the suburbs where the Naviglio flows away from homes to the bars where fates can be touched, mistaking salvation for ruin in a matter of seconds. And so the lives of those seeking freedom from thankless work intertwine, those who escape their bedrooms seeking a hug, those ready to break the order of a comfortable existence, those who chase away loneliness by keeping their front doors open: women who dream of a better tomorrow, unaware that the spider's shadow makes the night very dangerous. But Norma walks through that darkness to protect the world, to survive the violence and the fear of failure. To fight against the greatest horror, that of recognizing herself in the monster's gaze, confusing contempt and pity... From the pen of someone who experienced Milan's nightlife on patrol cars, an investigation by Officer Norma Gigli that transports us into a rapid-fire kaleidoscope of fear, a journey into those recesses of the city and of the human heart that we've never seen so dark.
