Synopsis
For engineer Florian Kaufmann, born and raised in the predictable tranquility of Switzerland, the most dangerous animal in the Amazon is neither the caiman nor the jaguar. Kaufmann's problem lies primarily with humans, and particularly those in the tiny Brazilian village of Araxá do Oeste, where his dream of an eco-friendly and ethical business is proving a likely failure. And just when it seems business might finally be on the up, his plans are upended, forcing him to navigate incompetent police officers, unscrupulous competitors, zealous insurance agents, and a network of criminals ready to hire him. Or perhaps kill him. Logic, in Brazil, is rarely linear. The search for the truth will lead Kaufmann to reconsider his personal and professional choices, forcing him to reexamine his moral principles and accept his limitations and weaknesses; and, ultimately, to make a radical and decisive choice.
