Synopsis

Lorenzo is at that fateful age when you're no longer considered a promising young man; you don't have enough experience to be a revered maestro, yet they always treat you like the same old asshole (especially when you ask for a raise). He's at that age when you have a decent job in Milan, "with plenty of room for growth." You have a decent girlfriend, whom you could get used to. That age when, after years, everything seems on the verge of falling into place. And yet, everything falls apart. And when everything falls apart, what do you do? Should you continue to resist despite adverse fate? Despite the interview shirts, the basement studios overlooking the parking lot, the padel games—an anesthetic against life's transience—the in-laws obsessed with al dente yellow risotto? Should you continue to resist despite Milan? Or is the solution to saving yourself from a trap of opportunities and unfulfilled promises a strategic retreat to the province you left behind years ago? Sure, there's that little problem of having to move back in with your parents, of not seeing your old friends again, and of looking like a failure in everyone's eyes.
