Ballad of Memmo and the Blond One

Ballata di Memmo e del Biondo

Synopsis
One spring afternoon, we witness a mysterious encounter between two men. The first, Memmo, is an elderly man who has had a rich life and played a central role in the history of his city. From his memories, we reconstruct his youth, his loves, his mistakes, his regrets, particularly his nostalgia for a betrayal and the loss of a great friendship. Of the other, called Blond, we know little to nothing, except that—despite being mature—he has never truly reached maturity. But who is he, really, and why is he so interested in the story of someone with whom he seems to have no connection? And is everything Memmo says true? One man's truth is never the same as another's, and often becomes so complicated that it becomes impossible to grasp a single dimension, leaving us with the sole certainty that we will never truly know it.
